About Us

Welcome to Sandwich Community Unit School District 430. The District encompasses 50+ square miles and is located in northern Illinois about 30 miles southeast of DeKalb and about 60 miles west of Chicago. The Sandwich community has a population of approximately 7,000.

Special Student Opportunities

High School Curricular Nights

Sandwich High School is pleased to announce their annual Curriculum Nights hosted to better familiarize students and parents with the classroom expectations of the school and staff as well as an opportunity to discuss course selection options for next school year; and plans for post secondary education as well as career planning. The Administration and Guidance Department encourages and invites all students and their parents to attend and participate. Music Trip to the 2009 Inauguration

The Sandwich High School band and choir have been invited to attend the Heritage Music Festival held in conjunction with the Presdiential Inauguration in Washington, DC, from January 16-20, 2009. Bands and choirs from around the United States are invited based on past performances to appear before nationally-known clinicians at the festival. This is the third time the SHS band has been invited to the festival and the first time for the SHS choir.

8th Grade Washington DC Trip

Currently enrolled 8th grade students have the unique opportunity to participate in a 5-day tour of our nation's capital in Washington, DC, from February 12-16, 2009. This trip is hosted by the Sandwich Middle School History Club and is administered by Educational Tours, Inc.
