The staff at Sandwich Middle School is committed to establishing and maintaining an equitable and dynamic educational experience designed to meet the unique physical, emotional, and social needs of the adolescent learner.   • Any 8th grade student interested in VB stats, please see Mr. Arendt.
  • It is time to announce the winner of the LRC’s “I Read This Summer” contest. The 2 runners-up are JARRED SCENTS & AMANDA ROEHN. The GRAND PRIZE winner is JORDAN ISHAM. All three of these lucky winners should head to the LRC after announcements to claim their prize.
  • Before 8:00, be sure to use the gym doors ONLY. After 8:00 use the main doors, and report to the office to receive a late pass
  • Also, remember to check the white board during lunch. If your name is up there, you have something waiting for you in the office
  • Fall Picture day is September 16, 2010
  • That the price in the student handbook changed from $2.40 to $2.50
  • Students need to have their Student ID's with them daily. They will need them for lunch, checking out books in the LRC, and for school dances

2011 Washington Educational Tour Scheduled

Sandwich Middle School is proud to offer a trip to our nation's capital city in Washington, DC in February 2011. The trip is open to ALL 2010-2011 eighth grade students at SMS. Our trip to Washington, DC, will be provided through Educational Tours, Inc. ET has 40 years of experience in offering school tours and is a member of the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the National Tour Association (NTA). They are also an Accredited Travel Provider through SYTA, exceeding rigorous standards of industry regulations and requirements. Our 2011 educational tour will travel to Washington, DC, from February 17-21, 2011. Travel accommodations are being provided by motor coach to keep the cost of the trip as low as possible. All fees are included in the cost of the trip including transportation, admission to tour stops, hotel room fees, all meals, and a group photo.

Emergency Day Information

There are several wasy that our building will communicate information about school closings. On inclement weather days, the school district encourages parents to check for up-to-date information on school closings by listening to the radio or watching television for closing information. We will send this information to WSPY (107.1 FM) and/or on the WGN television station.

Parents may also go to http://www.emergencyclosings.com for school closing information and can sign up for e-mail notification of school closings.
